"cub in the Canopy" A curious and beautiful leopard cub residing in a tree in the heat of the day. With a beautiful mixture of textures of the cub and the tree, this painting delivers many points of focus. Sold 🔴
"An Afternoon Splash" Deep within the mopane forest, I stumbled across this white rhino bull peacefully wallowing in the shallows of the water hole. Unfortunately due to strong winds, he didn't hear us approaching, causing him to have a minor panic, meaning this beautiful and serene moment was over in a flash. Luckily my camera was in hand and at the ready, as it always is when approaching a water source. Available 🔵
"Leopardess" This graphite drawing of a leopard captures the beautiful detail of these elusive cats. By far one of my favourite animals to come across on safari, these striking predators never fail to amaze me with their stunning patterns that work so well to camouflage them in the bush. This drawing is available as an original and as prints. 🔵
"Mother's Protection" Amidst the dryness of Zimbabwe's Lowveld, this buffalo mother stands proud and defensive towards our approaching vehicle. Very little would get between her and her calf, and with a headset of weapons you would be sorry to do so. Sold 🔴
"A Leopards Gaze" In the picturesque lowveld of Zimbabwe, I came across this beautiful leopard enjoying the light breeze in the heat of the afternoon. After only a few moments together, up she got and disappeared over the rocks seen behind her. Right then I knew I had to capture that moment on canvas, with those piercing eyes of the leopards gaze. Available 🔵
"On the Move" A capture of the exquisite details of the wrinkles, texture, and movement of a majestic elephant cow. Available 🔵
"The Stampede" Just after sunset at the end of a hot African day, with a beer in hand sitting on that bank of a watering hole, we were greeted by a sudden rising of dust behind the rocks, followed by a fast approaching herd of over two hundred buffalo. Very quick to our feet, we rushed back to the vehicle for our own safety and to grab the camera - there was no doubt this would turn into a painting! Available 🔵
"Zebra Sketch" The beautiful details of a zebra, looking back over his shoulder in the early evening light. Available 🔵
"A Lazy Afternoon" Anyone who has been to Southern Africa in the hot and dry season knows the struggle with the heat of the day. Luckily for these warthogs, baobab trees provide a perfect escape from the heat of the sun. If you're ever out in the bush on a very hot day - be sure to lookout under the baobabs - you never know what will be resting up! 100x76cm. Available 🔵
"Giraffes of the Lowveld" A beautiful typical scene in Zimbabwe's Save Valley Conservancy, where giraffes can sometimes look small in their mountainous surroundings - something I wanted to capture in this scene. Available 🔵
"At the Waterhole" This beautiful scene of a herd of elephants coming down to the water for an evening drink was commissioned by a client after a trip to South Africa. Sold 🔴
"Pride Rock" This painting is made up from a range of experiences in Tanzanias Serengeti National Park, where I came across lions using these rocks known as "koppie" for a range of different uses - for vantage points, just lazing about on and for hiding away their cubs. I wanted to capture these behaviours together, as well as the vastness of the open savannah. 100x76cm. Available 🔵
"The Early Rains" The speed at which the bush can change colour and come to life is remarkable. Grass sprouting, leaves unfurling; it's a bountiful time for the game, so long as the rains remain. Sold 🔴
"Giraffe Collage" This collage of giraffes is made up from my many encounters of giraffes across southern and Eastern Africa, from Etosha in Namibia up to the Serengeti in Tanzania. This is available as an original and as a print. 🔵
"Zebra Collage" This collage of zebras shows few of the many zebras I've been lucky enough to see in the wilds of Africa. Im never in awe of the striking patterns of these animals, however when drawing this one I must say I started to go crazy from stripes! Available as an original and as prints 🔵
"Kudu Bull in the Reeds" On the waters edge of the big dam at Chishakwe, the kudu bull looked out over the water at me as I floated along the water, fishing rod (and camera) in hand. It's always a pleasure to see a kudu bull with its beautiful pair of horns. 40x30cm. Available 🔵
"Elephant Bull" An elephant bull standing its ground at a waterhole. 40x30cm. Available 🔵
"Ostrich" This graphite drawing captures the delicate patterns found in female ostrich feathers, very different to the deep and striking black of the males. Available as original and prints 🔵
"Towering Above" It's always a pleasure to share some time with a herd of giraffe. Their curiosity of us matching ours of theirs, it often feels as though you are in a stare off. Available 🔵
"Red-Billed Hornbill" The beautiful thing about going on a game drive is that even when all seems quite, when all the big game seems to be hiding away, there is always an abundance of birdlife around. When you begin to look for them, you don't stop seeing them, and the diversity is endless. One of the more common sightings is the red billed hornbill - you might know him as Zazu! 25x30cm. SOLD 🔴
"Golden Breasted Bunting" In the greys and browns of the dry bush in mid October, the beautiful colours of the birds really explode. A flash of gold alerted me to this beautiful bunting in the branches of a young mopane tree in Zimbabwe. 40x30cm. Available 🔵
"A Pair of Pied Kingfishers" One of my favourite things to do in the bush is to find a pretty spot near a water point, get comfy, and sit and wait. From a large herd of elephant to the tiniest of birds, there is never a dull moment. I sat with this pair of kingfishers for an hour one evening, as they dove in and out of the water on the hunt for young fish. The dead mahogany stumps protruding out the water make a perfect perch for them, a lovely sight to see! 25x30cm. Available 🔵
"Dugga Boy" Eye to eye with one of there beasts is always a great reminder of the size and strength of a buffalo, especially on foot. It is always a thrill to come across buffalo in the bush. 40x30cm. Available 🔵
"Alert" The Save Valley Conservancy is known for its good population of African Wild Dogs. It is always an honour to have an encounter with these inquisitive, sociable animals. I have been lucky enough to spend a lot of time with them in the bush, watching them sleep, play in water, hunt and feast. Being so endangered, here, they rely on the works of the African Wildlife Conservation Fund to monitor and conserve this population, reducing the effects of snares and other threats on the dogs. For this reason this painting was raffled off to raise money for them, with the raffle raising over £1500! 25x30cm. SOLD 🔴
"Black-eyed Bulbul" Always seen hopping around the tree branches, bulbuls always create a hive of activity, seen here in the branches of a pod mahogany in Zimbabwe. 25x30cm. SOLD 🔴
"Paradise Flycatcher" The delightful paradise flycatcher never fails to bring a smile to my face. Flying elegantly with their extended tails, they have great execution and precision at capturing insects in flight. 25x30cm. SOLD 🔴
"Mother and Cub" A mother cheetah and her cub calmly relax on a termite mound in the early evening. 45x35cm. Sold 🔴
"Wildebeest" 40x30cm. This side profile of a wildebeest perfectly shows the stripes found on the sides of the neck and body, a pretty pattern often overlooked on these character filled creatures. Available 🔵
"Klipspringers" A real joy to see are klipspringers. Living up in the rocks of the koppie, these small antelope are perfectly adapted to leap and bound with their grippy hooves and shock absorbing hairs. Mating for life, these little guys are almost always seen in twos, with the occasional young spotted too. 40x30cm. Available 🔵
"On the Riverbed" You might usually expect to find leopards resting up in the branches of trees, safe out of the reach of lions and other dangers, but that really depends on where you are. Where I have spent most of my experience in the bush in Zimbabwe, I am still yet to spot a leopard resting in a tree. This is because they have a preference for the rocky outcrops where they can hide away, however in this instance, this leopard was resting peacefully on the bed of a riverbed. 30x25cm. Available 🔵
"Soaring" Based on a photograph from one of my times in Zimbabwe, the aim of this painting was to capture the essence of natures raw power and the balance it has with life. Against the vast canvas of the Zimbabwean sky, a solitary vulture soars gracefully, its wings spread wide in a majestic display of flight. The ominous stormy cloud looming behind it adds a dramatic contrast, casting a somber glow upon the scene. 76x61cm. Available 🔵
"Lioness" A lioness on the open plains on the lookout for its next meal in the early evening light. Available 🔵
"Lion" A big male lion keeps watch of a waterhole in the heat of the day far any potential meals. Available 🔵
"Lilac Breasted Roller" Some of the most vivd colours you can find in the bush of Africa are those found on the lilac breasted roller, a common sight where I spend my time in Zimbabwe and the national bird of Botswana. Sold 🔴
"A Zebras Dance" A pair of zebras side by side, balanced in stance in a way that you would believe they were dancing with one another. Sold 🔴
"Just Browsing" The aim of this painting of a black rhino from Zimbabwe was to capture the texture of this magnificent animals thick skin.
